The Big Reveal

Today was our final day at KIPP: Spirit, and it was, by far, our favorite day yet! After spending the week building the stage and renovating our college corners, we were very excited to spend the day with students!

In the morning, we spent the day with eighth graders working on their History Fair reports and presentations. While learning about Walt Disney, Magic Johnson, Harriet Tubman, and many more famous figures, we helped the Class of 2016 edit and prepare for their History Fair. It was amazing to see how much effort each student was putting into this project!

After helping the eighth graders, we headed to Celebration, which occurs every Friday. We ate lunch with the same students we had helped on an individual basis. After lunch was over, we played games for the remainder of the afternoon.

At the end of the day, we revealed the stage to all of the fifth graders. They loved it! We heard so many oohs and ahs and it made us so happy to know that our hard work did not go unnoticed. Thanks to KIPP: Spirit for all of their support throughout the week.

We said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel to get ready for our dinner with alumni in the area. At 5:15 we were off to the Hubcap Grill. There, we met up with two alumni from the Beta Kappa Chapter who were seeing each other for the first time in ten years! It was great to get to talk with them and see them reuniting.

Overall, this has been an excellent week! Tomorrow we get to explore Houston a bit by going to the space center and an Astros game. Houston, you have treated us so well!

Lots of Brotherly Love,
