Every Chapter is encouraged to participate in Phi Sigma Pi Spirit Week from February 8th – 12th, 2016 as part of our Countdown to 100 (found in the Centennial Planning Guide). Your Chapter should all know why you should wear your badges on Thursday, and now it’s time to plan your Leadership Activity for Friday!
We have already seen our Chapters impacting their campuses and communities with leadership through service. We even reached our Hours of Hope goal six months early! What better way to close out Phi Sigma Pi Spirit Week on Friday, February 12th, than with a Leadership Activity? We recommend that you leave this one to your Service Committee. However, if they need a little help, here are 5 Leadership Activities that your Chapter can plan for Phi Sigma Pi Week.
Find a local organization close to your campus that needs help. There are a lot of organizations out there that could use some help such as after school programs, food shelters or Habitat for Humanity. Decide on an organization and plan a volunteer project!
Connect with an awesome Alumnus/ae. Your Chapter’s Alumni have some awesome jobs and passions! Find someone that has extra time to talk and invite them to speak to your Chapter/institution.
Get involved on campus. Research events happening on campus such as Relay for Life, a campus dance marathon or university-sponsored clean up days. Participating in these events is a great way to support awesome causes and increase campus presence. When researching, don’t forget to look into philanthropic events being held by other clubs/organizations on campus! It’s a great way to build new relationships with other clubs/organizations.
Partner with a local museum/library to set up a Phi Sigma Pi Centennial Display. This is a big year for Phi Sigma Pi. Let’s tell everyone about it and show how fun our history is!
Host a Centennial inspired leadership in Action Module. Can’t get enough Leadership in Action? We can’t either! Learn a new leadership skill by requesting another Module through the Leadership in Action program.
Once your Spirit Week activities are planned, make sure someone from your Chapter fills out this super quick Countdown to 100! Registration Form by January 30th. Note: we have not included a box for Thursday’s event. At the conclusion of Spirit Week, your Chapter will be asked to fill out the Countdown to 100! Completion Form.
