Did you know that Phi Sigma Pi almost had an official mascot?
In 1989 it was proposed that, like many national fraternities and sororities, Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity should adopt an official mascot. Some suggestions, as noted in the September 1989 Purple & Gold, were an owl, dolphin, whale, eagle, lion and knight.
The January 1990 Purple & Gold included in it’s Grand Chapter Convention Weekend 1989 Wrap Up that “A motion to adopt the Dolphin as the National Mascot failed.”
Though we never adopted an official mascot on the national level, many Collegiate Chapters have adopted a mascot of their own. Check them out!
