Meet our Newest Chapters- Eta Theta

Phi Sigma Pi welcomed three new Chapters into Team Eta this spring. Over the next few weeks we want to help you get to know the newest members of the Phi Sigma Pi family. Earlier this week we introduced the Eta Epsilon Chapter at Frostburg State University. Today we are introducing the Eta Theta Chapter at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville!

The Eta Theta Chapter was Inducted on April 27th, 2016. This semester the Colony worked together to get the Phi Sigma Pi name out on campus. They were featured in the campus newspaper and created a great working relationship with the Student Life Office. Alumni Advisor Josh Moore (Epsilon Xi ’12, SAAC) guided the group as they established a strong Chapter foundation and goals for the upcoming year. We asked them to share a little of their experience. Check out a few of the highlights from their journey below.

What was your favorite memory from this semester?
Painting the rock. It was such a great fellowship experience and I feel that we got to get to know individuals as more than just members of the same group, but as friends.

What is the Chapter looking forward to accomplishing next semester?
Simply growing the Chapter and letting other students/friends see how much good can come out of being a part of the Brotherhood, whether that be on campus, in our community or personally.

What three words would you use to describe Eta Theta?

  1. Persistent
  2. Excited
  3. Welcoming

What does Phi Sigma Pi add to UT’s campus?
Diversity. There isn’t another organization like it, which was part of the appeal. It’s quite rare, on college campuses and in the “real world,” to find a group of individuals who value the Tripod as much as Phi Sigma Pi does. It will add an entirely new perspective to Greek life.

What would you say to someone thinking about becoming a Founding Member?
It’s so worth it. It might seem impossible that you can actually do it- start a Chapter of a 100 year old Fraternity, but you can and that’s what’s so great. You have the ability to shape the Chapter the way you and your Brothers want to, to fit the campus you’ve chosen for the next four years of your life. You get to create a Chapter that you, and soon to be hundreds of others, will call home forever.
