We are now 49 days away from Phi Sigma Pi’s 2016 National Convention (Centennial Convention)! We’ve been highlighting some exciting opportunities that you will have as an attendee and today we’re talking about a once in a lifetime opportunity.
For the culmination of our 100 year celebration, we’re going home! On Saturday, July 30 we’re taking a trip back to where it all began, the University of Central Missouri, home of the Alpha Chapter. This is a really cool opportunity to walk the campus that our Founders walked when they established Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity 100 years ago.
The bus will be leaving from our host hotel and will take us to UCM where we will first take a huge “100” group picture on the football field. Next, we will head over to Hendricks Hall for a reception and archive displays. The feature program will include special guest speakers, the Founders Ritual and the singing of the Fraternal songs. You will also have the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the campus with the assistance of the Alpha Chapter Members. An optional bus will be visiting the cemetery where our Founders were laid to rest so you can pay your respects to the ones who started it all.
The bus will be back to the hotel in time to give you plenty of time to shower and get ready for Banquet! We hope you’ll join us for this once in a lifetime opportunity! (Be sure to add it to your itinerary)
Note: You MUST sign up for this activity during registration if you wish to go on the trip on July 30th.
Pro Tip: Wear your letters or Purple and Gold for the group photo! Also be sure to choose your boxed lunch option during registration and whether or not you would like to visit the grave site. If you miss filling in these options, your registration will not go through.
