Alumni Members from around the country attended the 2016 Alumni Convention in Seattle, Washington from June 2-5th.
Here were our top Alumni Convention Moments!
The best part of Alumni Convention is being able to meet and bond with fellow Alumni Members from all across the country! We all had a great time getting to know one another and reconnecting with old friends! We had a bunch of local, Seattle area Alumni attend, as well as guests and friends of attendees.
Seattle is known for being cloudy and rainy…well the weather was on our side, sunny and warm everyday (you could see Mount Rainier from everywhere). We started off by going underground in Seattle’s original neighborhood. Next, we spent the day visiting Seattle’s biggest landmarks, including a trip up the Space Needle, boats crossing through the Ballard Locks, and flying fish at the world famous Pike Place Market. Lastly, we took a tour of the Boeing Airplane Factory where we got to see the airplanes that are being assembled for many international airlines.
What’s great about Alumni Convention is the opportunity for Alumni attendees to discover the city on their own. Members explored different museums and restaurants, met up with friends/family that are from Washington and even took the ferry across Puget Sound to Bainbridge Island. At Alumni Convention you really get to choose your own adventure!
Founders Ceremony & HOBY Presentation
On Saturday morning we came together to celebrate 100 years of Phi Sigma Pi by honoring our Founders and their legacies. Special remarks were given by Foundation Board President Katie Peachey, Foundation Secretary and former National President Jonah Goodman, VP of Finance Sarah Cantwell and Foundation Director and former National President Josh Marder. Did I also mention that there was cake!?
Eric Martin, the Leadership Seminar Chair from HOBY Washington gave a presentation on HOBY and then we helped HOBY WA reconnect with some of their Alumni.
Phi Sigma Pi Foundation Dinner
On the last night of Alumni Convention, Members and guests gathered for dinner. We heard from the Foundation on their Centennial year goals, met the Foundation Board Members and were able to give back to the Fraternity!
