The countdown to Phi Sigma Pi’s 2016 National Convention (Centennial Convention) is now at 42 days! As you’ve seen, there are so many cool things happening at Centennial Convention, but we couldn’t resist adding one more! You may have heard of the Phi Sigma Pi Foundation’s first ever Virtual 5K. Well, we’re taking the virtual out of it by having an actual 5K hosted by past National President Jonah Goodman!
What better way to start Centennial Convention than with a run with your fellow Brothers! On Wednesday, July 27th, at 8:30am we’ll head out from out front of the Marriott Hotel on a 3.1 mile run (the distance of a 5K). Jonah will be leading the run as he’s led a running group at National Convention for several years and all are welcome whether you’re an experienced runner or you plan on walking. It will be a great way to get the blood flowing before LiA Facilitator Training and Grand Chapter!
If you haven’t already, make sure to register for the Virtual 5K by going to foundation.phisigmapi.org/5k. By registering, you ensure that you will receive a special finishers medal and certificate for completing the 5K. You also have the option of adding a t-shirt or additional donation towards the Centennial Fund. Let’s run into the next 100 years together!
Registration for both National Convention and the 5K ends June 30th
Note: There is no option to add the run to your Convention agenda. Just show up!
Pro Tip: Make sure to bring appropriate clothes/shoes for the run. And don’t forget, there is a prize for the most spirited running outfit! For more information on the 5K and to get tips on how to safely prepare, join the Virtual 5K Facebook Event.
